Okay, so because of the strong winds caused by typhoon Pedring, there was power outage in our subdivision. Yes, only in our subdivision. How depressing is that? I looked outside the window and I can see all these houses outside our subdivision with lights and everything. So me and my two siblings had to stare at each other for the whole night to stay sane. I got tired of looking at my brother's face so I settled on my ipod. Listening to the wind and rain banging our windows was no fun at all. It's like you're scared that at any minute your roof might come off and fly away.
I realized that, when you have nothing to do, like no choice at all, you start to be more aware of your surroundings. You get to see things that you don't usually notice on everyday basis. For one, I noticed that we actually have an umbrella at the back of our front door, there are 14 steps going up the stairs, my brother is more annoying, my sister gets more attentive to our house's every need, nobody bothered texting me (even our mom), I noticed that we never use our washing machine anymore, we only have water and hotdogs in our fridge, one of our house's 4 walls is colored yellow, we have 2 flashlights (I never knew the other one existed until that night), we only have 3 candles left and we have a lot of canned sardines in the cupboard.
Anyway, I woke up the next morning feeling extremely cold, it's still a riot outside, still no power, no water and little food left. So I went downstairs to find out that our whole living room was flooded. So I thought, "Wow, at least we have something to busy ourselves with, but wtf it's too cold to even lift a finger."
So I decided to eat something first, then woke my sister and told her to help me with the flood downstairs. She mumbled something I didn't understand. I thought it would just be a waste of time trying to wake her up so I went back downstairs to start cleaning up.
I was thinking of KFC the whole time I was cleaning up. To cut the story short, at 5pm I heard my brother shouting at the top of his lungs "May ilaw naaaa~!"
