The day I ate HORSE

So some friends asked us to lunch and we went to this place called Ketchup somewhere in Wright Park and we ate at a restaurant called Rancho Norte. They serve all kinds of "tapas" and when we saw the menu there were different kinds of animals in it. Hahaha like literally. Ok so their menu consists of tapang baboy ramo, tapang usa(deer), and lastly tapang kabayo. So I decided to go for the horse. We were wondering if it'll be worth our money because it was kind of expensive there. My other friend even said, "Baka 'yun yung mga matatandang kabayo sa Wright Park, 'yung tipong malapit nang ma-dedo." We all laughed but then I thought..what if he's right after all?

Le horse meat. The one on top obviously.
Yep. It looked like an ordinary tapa meal you'd find anywhere but its taste was different. You could really tell it's not pork nor beef. It doesn't taste that bad, as a matter of fact it tasted awesome. The bad side to this was, the serving was too little.

My friends who also ate the same thing.

I've been going out with all summer.

The guy in red ate tapang usa. I tasted it and it's better than the tapang kabayo.
So yea. I ate horse meat y'all.

HP I love you

Pottermore. I've been waiting forever!

I'm a huuuge HP fan. I've read all 7 books and I know them by heart. I've seen all 7 movies and I've cried when Dobby and Snape died. I was depressed for days after watching the last Harry Potter movie. I was a wreck. That's how much I love Harry Potter. And for that, I thank God for J.K. Rowling.

Sooo when I heard the news about the re-opening of the Pottermore site, I've wasted no time. I almost cried when I saw J.K. Rowling's face when I signed up. Lol I know I sound pathetic, it's a fan thing.  It's hard to explain. I grew up with Harry potter with his round glasses. Haha

So now, my so-called life at Hogwarts begins.

HUFFLEPUFF!
Ok so I admit, I was kinda disappointed when I got sorted to Hufflepuff. I was really hoping for Gryffindor or Slytherin. Well..everybody wants to be Gryffindor. Anyway, I'm ok with Hufflepuff because the color yellow is cute and it sounds like Jiggly Puff. Lol ok so I'm still not over it. I still wanted to be Gryffindor. Unfortunately, I can't take the test again.

So I now belong to Hufflepuff, the house of the ever loyal and quiet people. My wand is of the rare type, meaning it's soooo special. Haha it has a Phoenix feather core and is made of Alder wood and it's "surprisingly swishy" as described. See! I may not be sorted to Gryffindor but I have a rare wand, so booyah! I discovered that I suck at potions and I excel in Spells. I still have hope!

AVADA KEDAVRA!!! Rawr!!

Day off from school and work

Yes, a day off I badly needed.

I never really enjoy summer vacations mainly because of the scorching heat. I live in Baguio City and I can't even tolerate the heat here! When I went down to my hometown Dagupan City..Oh. My. God. Hoooot! Not nice at all. Anyway, I'm not here to talk about the heat. I'm here to talk about what I did today.

So last night I slept kinda early 'coz I was exhausted, and I woke up late today. Hahaha I missed waking up late. Mom is here and I had to deal with her. My mom is a neat freak, which I unfortunately didn't inherit. She asked me to clean my room for the nth time this week (I usually clean my room once a week, every Sunday) and for the record it's my 3rd time this week to clean my room. Mom is living with us just this summer because she said it's too hot back home. Ugh. Again! I can't refrain myself from talking about how hot it is this summer. =____=

So, I rummaged through my things and I found 3 books, plus one that I just purchased last week. I haven't read a single book since November 2011 (which is bad). I used to be a super bookworm way back in high school. Omg I would read 4-5 books in a week. I have these friends with libraries in their houses. Lol ok I was exaggerating but yea, I used to be a super bookworm. You'd see me in a corner with a book stuck to my face, but hey I have a ton of friends and I can multitask. My point is, I'm a self proclaimed nerd WITH friends. Hahaha! I have a social life.

I've started reading this book and it's all about getting what you really want in life. Not really my cup of tea, but it's worth a try.

Ooh! Again, I've started reading this book too and it's about a closet queen.

Another Stephenie Meyer book and thank god it's not about vampires anymore.

Oooh! This is the book that I've purchased last week. I really like it's cover.

Thanks to my friend kat for lending me the books and I promise to  take good care of them. Hahaha I have this thing about books. I hate dog ears. No to dog ears on books! Use a bookmark for god's sake!

Thou shall not fold a page.
Thou shall not fold the book!
Thou shall not blemish the cover of the book.

I'm saving these books for the 2-week vacation after summer classes. I can't wait to finish all of them. Yay!

Then my baby bro and I started playing with the webcam and took pics of us. Hahaha we found pics where we look exactly alike.

We're indeed siblings.
I need a vacation!!

Awesome Holy Week is Awesome

Ok first of all, it's hot. It's freaking hot. It's so hot I wish every place I go is air conditioned.

DAY 1 - Maundy Thursday

So it started with one sunny morning. It was Maundy Thursday and I woke up around 10am. I looked outside the window and I saw this.

It's going to be a very hot day they said.
My room is located in a fairly cool place..well at least in the morning. So I thought, "Hmmm it seems like a nice day. It's not that hot. What shall I do today?" I went down and was greeted with a nice breakfast. "Oooh it's really going to be a good day. I just know it." I said to myself. Then mom asked me to start preparing lunch. I was so in a good mood I immediately said "Ok." without any sign of protest. I usually hate being asked to do chores.. especially in the morning when I'm still in my sleepy state.

So this happened.

Carrots and beans!

Behold! Chicken heart!!

Tadaaa~! Sotanghon with carrots, beans and chicken parts! Omnomnom!
I can cook. Well at least the food I cook is edible. My family is a living proof..they're still breathing. Haha! anyway I had fun cooking even though I accidentally inhaled some pepper powder which caused me to sneeze a hundred times.

Fasting. No meat, poultry or anything luxurious to eat. Only fish and veggies.

Unfortunately, it was April 5 and it was mom's 50th birthday. We weren't able to celebrate because it was Huwebes Santo.

DAY 2 - Good Friday

We went on a road trip to Alaminos City! It was a ton of fun. Ok, Alaminos City is an hour drive from Dagupan City and mom decided to do her shopping there, mainly because of the awesome seafood which were sold half the price.

We were wrong. Business is business. Economics. Law of supply and demand. The greater the demand and the supply remains unchanged, the higher the price of the good will be. Sooo we had no choice but to get them. It felt like a robbery. Lol.

Another thing that we witnessed that day was the Penitensya or the public penance. A tradition practiced only here in the Philippines for hundreds of years. People inflict wounds on themselves, and some even go as far as actually being crucified. It's a crazy tradition. Anyway, we saw several men doing it on the streets of Alaminos and I even got to take pics eventho it was extremely hot.

Huuuuu.. >___<
Just look how hot it was. They would have to stay on the cross until 3pm. Omg I admire those men, but I still think it's crazy. Even the church now discourages this practice, but I guess old habits are hard to break.

DAY 3 - Black Saturday

Birthday celebration!!! Finally, we could celebrate mom's birthday! So we woke up early to prepare for the partay. I had to get the cake and I'm proud that I chose an awesome cake. It didn't look that appealing with all the icing on top, but once you see the inside of the cake..OMG. Hahaha it was 3-in-1. Mocha, chocolate and vanilla flavor in one cake. Am I awesome or what? Lol but honestly, I had no choice but to get that certain cake 'coz it was the last biggest cake. Just got lucky I guess.

Mom, you're old. Deal with it.
Hahaha I was responsible for the birthday message too. I know how mom loves it when we remind her of her age. She would tell us "You don't have to rub it in you know.."She has some issues with aging. I don't mind getting old. Well.. I'm only 21 and age doesn't really bug me...yet. Lol. I know someday I'll get age conscious too just like my mom.

It was an awesome partay. I love you mom! You're not getting any younger! Ha!

DAY 4 - Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday. Time to go to church and as usual we were off to Manaoag. If it wasn't for the Holy week we wouldn't have gone 'coz it was hooooot. It was too hot to be anywhere outside.

Hot. Just hot.

Just look at those people! Eeeek!
We took Nanay along with us and it was a bad idea because it was hot and crowded. Nanay had to squeeze in with all other people to get inside the church. We managed to get her inside the church safely but we took her out even before the mass ended to avoid human traffic.

After the mass, we went to see The Hunger Games. Oh yeah! The Hunger Games was bomb.com! I can't wait to read all the books!

Soooo.. That's how I spent my Holy Week. Tomorrow, we're leaving for Baguio. Eeeh.. Back to normal again. School and work. Boo!

I want an Easter Bunny!

I've Changed My Blog Title

You don't say?

Ok so I've changed it because I've realized that "Being Random Doesn't Hurt" is too mainstream. I thought it was cool.

"Unicorns I Love Them" is wayyy better.

I've decided. I'm going to blog more this week. I'm going to blog about how I'm going to spend the Holy Week. I'm not that religious but my mom is. I know it's going to be interesting since tomorrow is Maundy Thursday and it's my mom's birthday too. Unfortunately we can't celebrate..we're not allowed to.
